If you've wondered how Autodesk Inventor uses linear interpolation to find values that are not listed in a table, read this short tip.

The table below could be for anything, but let's say it's a form of a bend table. The column headings are bend radii in millimeters, and the rows are bend angles.

Let's also say that Inventor searches the table and finds an exact match for the bend angle. It matches with Row-1. The next step is to find a match for the bend radius, which is 5 mm, but there is no match. So Inventor interpolates the value.

Imagine adding a new column to the table containing the column heading for 5 mm.
