When you use Symmetric tolerances you just need to enter the tolerance in the Upper cell. The lower tolerance cell is active when you specify Limit tolerances.
What you might not know is the Evaluate Size section allows you to set the length of sketch geometry based on its tolerances.
By default, sketch geometry is set to its nominal size. So the yellow icon is active. If you activate the plus or minus icons you can evaluate your geometry based on its maximum or minimum size. For example, all you need to do is click the plus icon to set the length of the line to its maximum size.
The green triangle will set the geometry to its median size. This option can be used for unequal limit tolerances like +.005/-.010.
The beauty of these settings is you can evaluate your models in their maximum and minimum material conditions. This will help you better understand how your parts fit together in extreme conditions.
When you’re finished evaluating your model you can set all the dimensions in the model to their nominal condition using the Parameters dialog box.
Launch the Parameters dialog box from the Manage tab, and then click the icon in the Reset Tolerance section on the bottom.
