SolidWorks Dynamic Mirror Tool Previews Symmetrical Geometry - Page 2
Activate the Dynamic Mirror Command
Select the Dynamic Mirror tool from the Tools>Sketch Tools pull-down menu.
In the Property Manager, a message will ask you to select a sketch line or linear model edge. Select the construction line. Two lines on each end of the construction line will appear to indicate you’re in Dynamic Mirror mode.
Draw sketch geometry
Start drawing on one side of the construction line and mirrored geometry will be created simultaneously on the other side.
Deactivate the Dynamic Mirror command
To exit Dynamic Mirror mode and continue sketching normally, click on the Dynamic Mirror icon.
Why is this important?
The Dynamic Mirror tool lets you create symmetrical sketches faster saving you time. It also allows you to preview symmetrical geometry in SolidWorks while you’re sketching.
